Roethlisberger is being investigated
Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is being investigated in an allegation of sexual assault at a Georgia nightclub, the police said Friday. Officers said the suspected assault occurred early Friday at a nightclub in Milledgeville, Ga., about 85 miles southeast of Atlanta. Roethlisberger and his friends were seen visiting local restaurants and bars Thursday night.
Separately, Roethlisberger had been sued by a woman who claimed he raped her in 2008 at a Lake Tahoe hotel. He denied those allegations and asked for counter-damages. A statement from Roethlisberger’s agent, Ryan Tollner, said he was cooperating with the authorities but was “skeptical of the motive” of the recent accusation.
